Project highlight · January 2024
To meet the growing demand for clean energy, we launched PWR MAX Mode, an operational concept that dynamically optimizes the maximum power output of gas turbines. Running on synthetic fuel gas, it has exceeded initial expectations and significantly improved efficiency and performance.
Power management
We implemented an upgrade to the Power Management System of a 220 MW island plant. It integrates a steam turbine in speed control mode with two gas turbines for load balancing, optimizing performance and keeping energy distribution stable.
O&M consulting
For Ternium in Brazil, KPS delivered in-depth operational analyses and long-term consulting. Tailored coaching and maintenance strategies improved the reliability of gas and steam turbines while substantially reducing downtime, and raised the capabilities of the plant’s maintenance team.
Emissions reduction
As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship, we upgraded a GE/Alstom legacy gas turbine from a conventional single-burner system to the EV-Alpha combustion system, designed to cut nitrogen oxide emissions significantly. We also migrated the turbine’s control system from P13 to GE Mark VIe.
